    Historically, video games have been considered a novelty or a technical subject, but in recent years, given the increase in technology, video games have been able to show that they are more so. Although not a traditional art form, video games have an artistic basis. Video games are increasingly based on stories and visuals. With these increased artistic elements, it is increasingly difficult to deny that video games are art, but perhaps they are not art defined by a traditional definition. Critics argue that video games lack the artistic values ​​of art, but perhaps a new definition of what art is is needed to include video games. Art can be divided into two different categories, “literacy arts”, art forms. that attempt to tell a story, and "fine art", traditional works, sculptures and paintings, as well as music and dance. Video games, like cinema, are an example of a literacy art form. Video games are increasingly becoming an art of literacy by telling stories equal to, if not better than, those found in most films. Not just mediocre stories for the sake of having them in games, but compelling stories that push the player forward. Bioshock, released in 2007, is an example of this growing importance of stories in video games. Influenced by the philosophy and works of Ayn Rand, the creator managed to create a cautionary tale about human individualism and genetic modification (VerBruggen). Art also has an emotional effect on its viewers; he suggests new ideas and critiques current ones.
