  • Essay / The impact of technology on the music industry

Since the beginning of time, technology has existed, we saw it with the invention of the wheel for example. Since then, wheel technology has advanced to help men and women make their lives easier. But it didn't stop there, it continued to grow and will continue to grow year after year. The technology was quite simple when it was created in the 4th millennium BC, but it can't always stay the same. Since technology has evolved exponentially, it has also changed the music industry, thereby changing the daily lives of humanity. It changed the music industry for the better and for the worse in others. This has changed by improving and making the industry more advanced than it was before. Technology has improved the music industry due to its popularity, variety, and digital downloading. Technology has changed the music industry over the past few years. Music has had the opportunity to expand its distribution to the world and music fans. But when downloading became a reality, the music industry tried to fight the change. Then they tried to keep control of the music industry and keep it unchanged while maintaining a high profit for sales, but this ultimately backfired on them. What the music industry had planned was not what they wanted, but rather the opposite of what they wanted. Technology has also changed with online downloading. Since online downloading was used or introduced, the sale of actual CDs has declined. People found downloading online cheaper and therefore did not need to buy CDs. Additionally, people have also found online downloading much easier, so they don't need to waste their time searching for the CD they want and can't seem to find it......at middle of paper......two, variety. With all these new changes the music couldn't stay the same, they had to spice it up a bit. The music needed that extra oomph, so other artists who aren't really well known took the original song and remixed it. It made people more interested in listening. There were so many different options to listen to that people kept listening to random songs they found and streaming them to their friends who showed them to their friends and so on. The third and final reason is digital downloading. Since digital downloading came into play, it has made it much easier for people to find and purchase music. This led to the slow death of the music industry, but made it easier for people to purchase music from the comfort of their homes. These are the main reasons why technology has improved the music industry. something about the future
