Essay / My passion for volunteering in the community - 1422
This experience showed me that sometimes the children you least expect are the ones who need help the most. When my group first arrived at the center, a girl came up to me and gave me a big hug. I thought he would be the child I would spend the most time with and become my boyfriend. As the week progressed, I realized that she was doing this with every group that volunteered. She was so kind to all the strangers who volunteered. I also spoke with another girl who had a horrible accident when she was younger. She was quieter than most of the other children at the school. She had scars on her face and wasn't good at sports or other physical activities like everyone else. This girl reminded me of myself. I also have a scar on my face from my childhood. It makes me sad that I didn't take the time to get to know her as much as I should have. I didn't realize she was my God until it was the last day for us to be in this place. I wish I could see her again and see how she is doing. On the last day, as our group was leaving for the last time, I told this girl that she was beautiful no matter what anyone said and gave her one of my bracelets. Her face lit up and she gave me a hug. It's something I will never forget. I enjoyed working with these
