According to women, women continue to have fewer rights, lower levels of education and health, less income and less access to resources and decision-making than men. However, women play a vital role in mass food or grain production, income generation and natural resource management. Community groups and domestic chores are essential for ecological growth. The majority of individuals consider the issue of women's economic equality to be obsolete or outdated, since a "new world" of opportunities has opened up to women, giving them access to higher education and a more equality of work between men and women. Yet the fact is that after years of progress during the “20th century, between the 1970s and the 1980s, the gender gap remained” (Beaujot, Kerr 2004). Even though our Charter of Rights and Freedoms states that everyone should be treated equally regardless of gender, or in other words equality rights for all, it seems that the statistics support that women have limited opportunities compared to men. in their professional fields, because even though women tend to have a higher level of education or bring the same skills as men, their skills are neglected due to the unequal distribution of family obligations and also due to stereotypes of gender towards women. This essay will focus on issues that women face compared to men, including workplace discrimination, family obligations, limited career choices, and sexism that women face.
