    IntroductionThe purpose of this research is to prove that the doctrine of employment at will does not protect the employed population in the United States. The fact that if you look at the way the doctrine is written, it protects employers and businesses, which therefore creates discrimination. This in itself creates an unsafe and sometimes unstable work environment due to the risk of high turnover, costly training, and low employee morale. There are certain factors that must be considered in the at-will employee doctrine, such as union protection, economics, contracts versus employment, discrimination, and the current economic situation of the United States. The United States is numerous; However, most employees have questions when they leave their jobs. The at-will employment doctrine is as follows: According to Cornell Law School (2013), “the at-will employment doctrine refers to the presumption that employment is for an indefinite period and may be terminated either by the employer or by the employee” (Cornell, 2013). This approach has been challenged in court on numerous occasions because it constitutes an interpretation of employment relations. This actually justifies discrimination and has propelled union relations with employees seeking protection and equal bargaining power. These pro-union voices view unions as capable of demanding good faith bargaining from the employer, job security, and other benefits (Cornell, 2013).
