    Scene Summaries of Romeo and JulietAct I, Prologue: The prologue to Act I is written in the form of a sonnet and provides a clear and concise summary of the piece. Romeo and Juliet will fall in love but their destiny is death. The feud between their families is at issue. Act I, scene 1: The scene opens in the streets of Verona. Gregory and Sampson, servants of Capulet's household, are discussing their enemies, the Montagues, when two of Montague's servants, Abram and Balthasar, enter. Benvolio, of the House of Montague, enters and attempts to break up the fight when Tybalt enters. Tybalt wrongly assumes that Benvolio drew his sword on Capulet's servants and challenges him to a duel. The Capulets and Montagues are driven into the streets by the noise. The Prince is also attracted by the scene. He is angry because feuding families have already disrupted the peace in the streets. He threatens to kill anyone who creates a problem again. Lady Montague's wife then asks where their son, Romeo, is. Benvolio reports that he saw Romeo walking alone and not wanting to socialize with anyone. At that moment, Romeo enters and Benvolio decides to find out what is wrong. He discovers that Romeo is in love with a young girl who will not respond to his advances. Act I, Scene 2: Capulet discusses the Prince's proclamation with Paris, saying that he doubts that old men like him and Montague would find it difficult to refrain from fighting. Paris quickly agrees and turns the subject to Capulet's young daughter, Juliet. Paris hopes to marry Juliet even though Capulet believes she is too young. She snatches her dagger and stabs herself to death. The page from Paris and the guard arrive and discover the bodies. The Montague arrives with the news that Lady Montague has died of grief following Romeo's banishment. Balthasar presents the letter that Romeo had given him for Montague. The prince reads it and discovers that the brother is truthful. He blames conflicting families for bringing this tragedy on themselves. Capulet and Montague swear reconciliation. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet reunited Verona and brought peace to the streets..
