It was not as harsh as Legalism and was more culturally accepted, unlike Taoism. The ways of thinking of Confucianism changed the behavior of people in Chinese society. Higher parties in the Chinese social hierarchy were expected to govern according to the moral standards of Confucian values. Confucius believed that “if they are led by virtue and if one seeks to give them uniformity by the rules of propriety, they will have a feeling of shame and moreover will become good” (James 2). His teachings and beliefs changed the entire dynamic of Chinese culture and the way they value family and political life. Of all the solutions created for this period, this was the most influential for the Chinese.
