A car will not run on energy produced by oil alone, you have to be very lucky to calculate it. This essay explores the nature of scientific knowledge by asking what science is. It highlights the importance of a scientific way of thinking and shows how observation and testing enrich the body of scientific knowledge. Focusing on astronomy and physics, the module highlights the work of scientists throughout history who have contributed to our understanding of the age of the universe as a means of conveying the nature of scientific knowledge. I fully support Jacob Bronowski's idea on “The Nature of Scientific Reasoning”. Scientific reasoning essentially involves observing the real world as its initial foundation, as Newton did in the Mother Garden, leaping through the imagination to see beyond the reach of the normal eye, as did made Copernicus to find the heliocentric model of the solar system and the law of planetary speed and motion. . Similarly, other procedures like order finding and shaded resemblance have also been clearly explained by giving examples.
