  • Essay / My key to happiness - 670

Life is not perfect; everyone goes through various difficulties at least once in their life. Due to the increasing standard of living and daily hustle and bustle, I sometimes wonder if we are really happy. For me, happiness is not a permanent feeling that comes easily. “Easy comes, easy comes” is how I can describe happiness, because it is built on our experiences and emotions. Yet there are difficult times when I feel sad, stressed, or worse, find myself quickly recovered and able to be happy again. In most cases, three important factors help me pursue happiness, such as family, meaningful activities, and gratification. Family is always a primary and important factor that contributes to my happiness. My parents divorced when I was little and I lived my entire childhood with my mother and my sister in my country. At that age, I sometimes felt sad and envious when I watched other children spending time together with both parents. Growing up, I moved to America with my father when I was a freshman in high school. I went through a difficult time trying to adapt to new living conditions without my mother and sisters by my side. There were times when I felt totally miserable, but my family members always encouraged and supported me despite the distance. Additionally, I learned to think positively and happily by spending time with friends and interacting with other people. According to the movie Happy, psychologists have proven that social interactions and physical activities help release dopamine, which is necessary to feel pleasure and happiness. Additionally, interacting with others is a great help in emotional healing, and "one of the keys to happiness is recovering quickly from adversity"..... middle of paper ..... .there are many things I should do. grateful. Nothing is completely perfect, and so is life. This can be positive or negative depending on the situation. Regardless, in order to make it as positive as possible, we should learn to face difficulties with our open-mindedness and optimism. It's a good way to make things easier and simpler, which you can do while moving forward and finding happiness. Everyone finds happiness in different ways. I found mine in all the simple ways, like spending time with family and friends, doing meaningful things, appreciating what I have. These are things that make me happy, and especially when they're free.Works CitedHappy. Real. Roko Belic. Wadi Rum Film, Inc. 2011. Film. Martin EP Seligman, Acacia C.
