Essay / The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt by Toby Wilkinson
Many researches believe that Ancient Egypt is the founder of the modern country-state system of politics and government, but unfortunately the truth is less pleasant and less democratic. We have no doubt that the Egyptian pharaohs were probably the first rulers to use religion and ideology for their own political and selfish motives, ruling the country and gaining the support of their people. frightening their people and other brutal and bloody methods as leverage to keep power in their hands and prevent any riots or other problems. Furthermore, the author describes the ordinary life of an ordinary Egyptian showing the constant violence directed against the soldiers in order to improve discipline and create a perfect environment; the gap between different social strata in the form of doctors who would only serve the rich and not even pay attention to the poor in need. Besides natural threats in the form of various deadly diseases, they were also threatened by local taxes and fees which were equal for the poor and the rich.
