  • Essay / The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt by Toby Wilkinson

Many researches believe that Ancient Egypt is the founder of the modern country-state system of politics and government, but unfortunately the truth is less pleasant and less democratic. Furthermore, the author describes the ordinary life of an ordinary Egyptian showing the constant violence directed against the soldiers in order to improve discipline and create a perfect environment; the gap between different social strata in the form of doctors who would only serve the rich and not even pay attention to the poor in need. Besides natural threats in the form of various deadly diseases, they were also threatened by local taxes and fees which were equal for the poor and the rich.
