What I realize as I listen to my group discuss this topic is that while globalization is the bond that is supposed to unite the world under capitalism, it is about more than simply opening up a country's economy to make it a free market system. There is a dependence on other qualities that differentiate the West from the rest of the planet. Western globalism has thrived on its political and social support.
