    Political science includes a wide range of subjects that attempt to describe and explain the political process, politics, and relationships between governments. As American citizens, we should all be informed and educated on all of these topics above. As citizens, we cannot ignore our government because it can make or break our lives. General areas of study in political science include American government and politics, political theory, public administration, public law, comparative politics, and international relations. Political science is the study of people's behavior as it relates to the control of public organizations. The concept is normally divided into six subcategories: Political philosophy – which deals with formal questions about how power should be distributed among branches of government as well as between federal and state governments. Political ideology also aims to protect human rights and obligations, the nature of justice and the ideal state.
