In this case, it has spread across the world in different ways and gives all fans a feeling of collectivism and connection. The books have sold between 400 and 450 million copies, making it one of the best-selling book series in history, and have been translated into 73 languages. Cinema was a global phenomenon and there is even an international park in Japan. On page 40 of his article, Jenkins recounts how Harry Potter was attacked by many people and organizations for being banned due to its paganistic content, but "the publishing industry joined forces with librarians, teachers and civil liberties advocates to stave off these attacks on children's right to read” (Jenkins, 40). Fans of this franchise have even created a national charity called the Harry Potter Alliance, which supports literacy across the country, and even recruited Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, to help their cause . These two examples perfectly illustrate collective intelligence because they include a group of people working together collaboratively to fight, for example, the attackers in this book series or illiteracy in America.
