Essay / The Relationship between State and Church - 900
Every person has the human right to participate in worship in public forums. Therefore, everyone has the right to pray at school. When prayer was still allowed in school, crime was low. Basically, there was less crime everywhere. We think of the good old days when basic morals were taught at home. When the difference between good and evil was reinforced. Back when family and religion were considered the most precious and valuable things. Now look at the mess we've made. Children look up to their parents and when their parents do not enforce their values at home, they seek to learn elsewhere. We now live in a world where parents are too busy with work to worry about their main priority; children. Some children don't even try to learn and shout to get attention. Every school faces problem children who violate the code of conduct in one way or another. Look closely sixty years ago, prayer was allowed in schools and religion was heavily involved. We had fewer prisons full of human psychopaths and virtually no serial crimes like today's society. Life was beautiful and fair. Everyone treated each other with kindness and respect. Respect was a major issue, as was the importance of believing in God. Nowadays, people turn to courts for every simple problem. There is no way for them to act like decent, civil human beings and talk about a certain situation to resolve a problem. In the past, if there was a problem, it was resolved through civil communication. Prayerless life at school led to total and complete chaos. People are running around, stabbing and robbing each other like it's no big deal. There are not enough honest people in the world. Think seriously, how many people can you actually trust and confide in...in the middle of an article...give them their chance to learn and pray in public forums? Regardless of your race or religion, America is a land of opportunity and religion should be given more emphasis. Works Cited Corbett, Cale. “Abington Township School District v. Schepp”.
