Essay / Article by Sev Er on general public negligence in sexual matters...
As it is written in the manual, sexual harassment is “comments, gestures or physical contacts of a sexual nature that are deliberate, repeated and unwelcome” (Macionis, JJ, Jansson, MS, Benoit, MC 2012. page 268). Sexual harassment was noted in the article and in the manual as a social problem that can harm a person's job performance and quality of life. It was also mentioned that when it comes to social structure, people are afraid of its repercussions and what will happen if something is done about it. As mentioned in the CBC News article, some women in the RCMP fear they will not be heard in cases of sexual harassment in the workplace. The GRC almost has a patriarchal or glass ceiling effect where women are not taken seriously, and the higher-ranking men can do whatever they want without any serious repercussions. If the complaint was serious enough, the men would simply be transferred or promoted to avoid any problems (RCMP women still fear reporting harassment).,
