The US administration has decided to send our troops to help destroy weapons of mass destruction under Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. This project discusses the impact, perception, and outcomes of U.S. involvement in the Iraq War. At first there was a lot of controversy and questions about why we got involved, why we attacked Iraq and what were our real intentions in taking these actions? Did we go there for the right reasons or did the United States have hidden agendas in causing chaos in the Middle East? People in the Middle East often have mixed emotions about what they think of our country. They think we are a nation that likes to dig in and get involved in everything. They assume that because we are rich and have more power and resources than most countries, we are invincible. In many Middle Eastern countries there are terrorist organizations that are so angry with the United States that they are constantly preparing ways to take revenge on us. 9/11 was of course the result of this mentality. Events: 1. Iraq invades Kuwait. 1990 - Iraq invades Kuwait, triggering what is now known as the First Gulf War. A massive US-led military campaign forced Iraq to withdraw in February 1991.
