  • Essay / Shyness Essay - 965

Shyness is a feeling of feeling awkward and tense during a social encounter, especially when meeting an unfamiliar person. A feeling of apprehension and nervousness causes a person to confront the facial scan and hesitate to make eye contact with others. This is a type of social phobia called social anxiety. Shy people exhibit particular symptoms such as blushing, sweating, and experiencing pessimistic feelings about themselves, such as worrying about how others view them. They become vigilant about their attitude and behavior towards others because they fear negative evaluations and criticism of their personality due to any mistakes. In class, there are many shy students who do not like to participate in class activities simply for fear of making a mistake. . They sit in the back so the teacher can't point at them and ask questions. Unfortunately, when this happens to them, their hands and voice shake and they cannot react properly. This could be the result of a speech disorder, which makes it difficult for them to respond or express themselves clearly in class. My perception of shyness is that peer pressure is the real cause of shyness which inhibits the mental and social growth of students and subjects them to constant apprehension and apprehension, which leads to loneliness due to social withdrawal. Peer pressure, the pressure of bullies who harass students and subject them to physical and psychological torture, has a lot to do with it. This causes a lack of self-confidence which results in a negative attitude of students towards their environment. Abused students are afraid to express their feelings in an environment surrounded by their peers. For all these reasons, they tend to withdraw from social interactions and linger in a word....... middle of paper ...... because they do not participate easily in class and get perform worse on tests that measure their intelligence. to their peers. Teachers expect less from shy students. Not only do they believe that shy students cannot get good grades, but many teachers have a stereotype that shy students have lower cognitive abilities. They expect shy students to lack the skills needed to succeed in the classroom (Hughes & Coplan, 2010). Because shyness expresses itself differently in a person depending on the environment, it is possible for a person to be socially active in front of their parents but not in front of their teachers and peers. This type of shyness could be alleviated by psychological counseling or medication, but the drug method would not be as effective as counseling because shyness is more likely to be due to a bad perception of a person..
