    Living a meat-free life is healthier, more environmentally friendly and more humane than a meat-based diet. I should know, I was shortening my lifespan by eating so much meat. I was literally killing myself, one bite at a time. After my high cholesterol diagnosis, I began researching ways to start a healthier lifestyle. That’s when I discovered the many negative effects farmed animals have on the environment. Needless to say, I was ultimately mortified when I read about the cruel and inhumane life these poor animals live until they die. I know we humans have eaten meat for thousands of years, but thousands of years ago we had to eat whatever we could to survive! Some may think that we cannot get the right amount of nutrients and vitamins that a meat diet can provide. I would agree with this statement; If we don't monitor our diet properly, we run the risk of anemia, or lacking the protein and vitamin B-12 we need. However, according to many doctors around the world (including my own), a vegetarian dies...
