Essay / Advantages and disadvantages of the Internet and its...
I chose to write about the Internet and its impact on people. I chose this topic because we could clearly see the effect it had on people, particularly on a social level. This topic has many positive and negative aspects such as social effect, financial problems, faster communication, entertainment for everyone, viruses and spam, online shopping, advantages and disadvantages of both sides. I will find the information I need via the Internet, and if I need help, I will contact my professor, Dr. Abdul Karim. Benefits of Internet The use of Internet these days has become an integral part of every individual on the face of the earth. So, before I start talking about the benefits of the Internet, I must first say what is the Internet? The Internet is a global communications network of interconnected computers that transfer data and information between each other using an agreed-upon language called a protocol. The invention of the Internet revolutionized the world of computing and communications, making communications faster and easier than before. In 1969, the U.S. Army created a communications network intended solely for military uses, but years later this network was expanded and improved by a communications company. It was then called the Internet or WWW, which means World Wide Web. Since then it has been open to the public. The advantages of the Internet are many compared to its disadvantages, but I will mention some advantages that impact people because it requires a lot of writing and research. Firstly, it combined the three forms of media (reading, watching and listening) into one, you can listen to the radio, watch the news and read a magazine at the same time. It also replaced the telephone,...... middle of paper ......entertainment. Like any other invention, it is we who are responsible for its use, good or bad. Additionally, a recently published study in the United States warned that every user spends every minute online without doing anything important, causing them to lose 0.05 minutes of their social life, 0.27 minutes of work and 0.04 minutes of rest and thinking, which increases to 0.12 minutes of sleep. Additionally, this time spent online will have an effect on other hobbies, such as watching TV, socializing, attending concerts and cultural activities. Conclusion As I mentioned earlier, everything has pros and cons, but we decide what to use and how. We must not forget our social life, our family and our friends when we use the Internet. We should make the Internet a simple device and we should not exchange it with our social activities.
