1. The first of the three texts presents a completely neutral and objective vision of the question of Simple Living. The text does not display any meaning but simply tells about the negative and positive sides of Simple Living. The text chooses to present the reason that lies in people who abandoned their normal lives and started living simply. The text explains how people moved from their normal lives to their new lives. They got rid of everything that is not essential. They do not focus on materialistic things and therefore have time to enjoy the most important things in life. Stuff like friends, family, girlfriends/boyfriends, etc. Another claim from the text is that many people prefer Simple Living because of the economic benefits. It's undoubtedly remarkably cheaper. Text 1 concludes that Simple Living can lead to a better life, through increased interaction with family, etc. and less stress in your daily life. The second text is an interview with Judith Levine about her recently published book. A book in which she describes a full year that she lived, without shopping. In other words, live simply. She got the idea to write the book while thinking about her Christmas shopping and the amount of money spent on gifts. She only bought the equipment necessary for her survival. Unlike the other text, this interview obviously becomes much more subjective. Judith Levine believes that overconsumption is a major problem. However, she recognizes that consumption is one of the factors that maintains a good economy. Judith Levine believes that Living Simple is entirely up to you, but she thinks it can improve the United States. However, you have to do something yourself. The third...... middle of paper...... ouch, because our phone is ringing. I experienced this myself recently. A broken iPhone led me to upgrade to an old Sony Ericsson. I experienced it almost instantly. It was much quieter than my usual iPhone. No Snapchat, no emails, no Facebook, no nothing. I suddenly understood everyone who currently lives simply. I wasn't as stressed. After a month with my Sony Ericsson, I want my iPhone. Now I suddenly feel left out. I think we should conclude that living simply could be an excellent path to a perhaps better world. However, this depends entirely on the individual. We can't force you to live simply. I think for a short while, everyone would appreciate, even love, the simple life, but after a while, you feel like you're missing out on a lot of things. It's because our society is built around all the things you suddenly disconnect from your life..
