Essay / Fathers of the Companies that Built America - 1506
At one point, Carnegie and Frick were in a place where their employees worked longer hours, in harsher conditions, and with less money that was not suitable for living. Frick knew it would increase the company's profits, but he didn't think employees would react negatively to it. Employees were severely overworked, making them unable to perform their jobs as they previously did. Employees were so tired of the horrible working conditions and low pay that they went on strike, which is the last thing management wants to deal with. To have a successful business, employees must be happy, because if they are happy, it is just as important as the money the business makes. Finance plays a role in every decision-making process a business must go through. An example of this is let's say Savannah owns a new boutique in town and just paid off the deposit for the location, but had to take out a lot of loans to renovate the place. All of Savannah's money went toward loans for the venue's furnishings, venue rent, equipment, supplies, and employees, but the store is hugely successful in the small town and it's getting extremely busy . Savannah no longer has money to pay for extra help in the store and that's where finances come to play a role in her decision on what to do next. Obviously, if Savannah had more money she could hire more help for the store, but since she doesn't, she has to find a way to not overwork her employees while still keeping a successful business . Every business has to make difficult decisions based on finances. The overall goal of the company is to market the best product and also produce the best product... middle of paper ... king of America, a bigger world for business.
