According to figures released by the Ministry of Health, it appears that only 45% of rural residents in Vietnam have access to clean drinking water according to Ministry of Health standards, which is significantly lower than other Asian countries. . Many domestic and industrial facilities use water to discharge waste into canals, rivers and lakes. Most of them did not have any wastewater treatment systems to treat the water flowing into the rivers. In this case, untreated industrial wastewater was directly discharged into the river's waterways, causing serious surface water pollution.
