  • Essay / Success and Happiness: A Personal Reflection - 1106

Happiness, what is it and why do we strive so persistently to achieve it? According to some views, happiness is described as the state that arises from self-awareness of a beneficial action or moment. What about times that are not beneficial? Can a person still find moments of happiness and success in discord, a small glimmer of light that shines from the deepest recesses of our own consciousness? Whether it is snatched from a single moment, obtained through money, or much more, happiness is the precipice that everyone strives to reach to better perceive their success. As a person lives, he constantly struggles to be happy. For example, even the United States Constitution refers to the idea that everyone has the inalienable right to pursue happiness. It was the result of the French Enlightenment, which spread to the rest of the world between 1650 and 1800. It revolutionized the idea that every person has the inalienable right to happiness or, according to different views, the right to succeed. As for how one navigates or evokes one's happiness, that is an entirely different concept and entirely dependent on one's preferred preferences, but it is something a person must find for themselves for true success. Now how does a person go about being happy, well, let's look at one of the most common questions in reference to happiness: "Can money buy happiness?" most people would say “yes”. The answer to this question will almost always be yes, because society and humans in general tend to be greedy creatures who always want more, from a better home to finer foods, there is and always will be more to obtain. But is it having these things that makes humans happy or is it the success of achieving yours... middle of paper ... happiness is best categorized as a state of mind because happiness has no particular path. to measure it, either you are happy or you are not. It is success that makes a person happy, his satisfaction with what he himself has produced. We control our own destiny and happiness; you can only be as successful as you allow yourself to be.
