Essay / Human Migration for Citizens Around the World
Studies have been conducted on the definition of human migration and how to achieve it in countries around the world. However, conflicting studies have shown that many people are unhappy with the speed at which people migrate over the years. To understand how these two viewpoints affect IOM and its work with countries around the world, both viewpoints must be considered. This article reviews studies supporting humanitarian migration around the world and suggests that further research be conducted to better understand the views of these authors. Literature Review The book Globalization: The Making of the World Society by Frank J Lechner, writing in 2009, explores the dimensions of globalization and the debated issues surrounding it. Lechner argues that globalization involves people becoming connected through the sharing of ideas and cultures. This sharing of ideas and cultures is what human migration aims for. Lechner argues that globalization involves the interdependence of people around the world and that citizens must work together, regardless of their nationality. Frank J. Lechner holds a doctorate in sociology and has published three books on globalization and world society. This book is quite new and was published in 2009. Its ideas on globalization are current and include statistics and research from previous years. Lechner appears to present an unbiased opinion throughout most of his book, but because part of the book is based on his personal beliefs, some bias seems inevitable.
