Having many different interests and many important things in my life, my sense of “self” is quite extensive and diverse. As I begin to investigate my deepest sense of “self,” I discover that I identify first and foremost as a Christian. Growing up in the Church, my relationship with God has always been a focal point of my life, which has absolutely impacted how I view others and the world around me. Growing up as a Christian, I learned morals and values that I will carry with me throughout my life, because living by a divine code of ethics is of vital importance to me. My identification with Christianity is deeply rooted in the comfort and protection I feel when I pray and attend worship services. Because I consider myself first and foremost a follower of Christ, I do my best, every day, to live in a more loving and godly way. I find that because I have devoted myself primarily to Jesus, the reminder of my life decisions, activities and commitments is made and respected, as I live my life for Him. Additionally, a large part of my “self” can be attributed to my identification as a daughter and sister. My family is a key element in my life, as I live every day to make my parents, brothers and sisters proud. I view my role as a daughter and sister as a primary identity, as I place my family at the top of my list of priorities, ensuring that I satisfy their needs and desires before taking on my own. I take being a girl very seriously, which is why I find it extremely important to never disrespect my family, especially my parents. Having always been extremely close to my parents and family, it wasn't until I grew up that I realized all the love in the middle of a paper...... most of my life has been spent in class, escaping into the real world, where I will no longer be a student, will be a shock for me. Becoming comfortable in my role as a learner, it will take a lot of adjustment for me to realize that my time in the education system is finally over. In discovering my sense of self, I reaffirmed the most important parts of my life, validating them on what feels like a scale of values. Because my connections to God, my family, and my friends are so strong and crucial, I know that not a day can go by without consulting each of these elements. However, in considering my role as an athlete and student, I noticed that while sport and my growing knowledge bring me great pleasure, my life would certainly retain many of the same core values, even if these elements diminished or even escaped my daily life. life.
