    Is the Hidden Agenda the Problem? I believe Anyon makes great points about how our democracy attempts to facilitate its social structure through subliminal teaching methods within our public schools. Everyone describes it this way: “The ‘hidden curriculum’ of schoolwork is tacit preparation in a particular way” (Anyon p. 188). David Lampert described the hidden agenda in Morris Berman's article as "the subconscious destruction of democratic values" (Berman, p. 68). Anyon illustrates how the government undermines, as it was called in Roman times, the ruling class, in today's public school sector. I have witnessed through Anyon, the subtle manipulation of teaching strategies, which helps adolescents to be parallel to their own social class, and which is essential for the development of learning. Anyon describes in detail how each child's mind is framed differently within each social class to facilitate their correlations within society. Although Anyon presents some compelling reasoning, I do not believe that Anyon's thesis is entirely true for all learning. I believe that learning expectations have a lot to do with a person's expectations for learning. If a student attended Stanford University, I believe that because of the expectations, they would be able to accomplish their job at Stanford University. Verses if that same student attended a junior college, he would be doing college work. Now you have to understand that there is a difference...
