My church and I usually hold community service events throughout our area every Saturday, usually going to a local rec center to talk to kids who don't have a figure father or mentor to admire. So me and a few guys are going to talk to these young men just to make sure they're on the right path and encourage them to follow the right path and seek God. It's good for them and for us because we're all growing as Christians and we all need to talk and have a relationship with that person, so it's a really great opportunity. What was observed during the experiment? During the experiences I had doing this community outreach, I observed that at the beginning, you could say that these young men were not very excited, perhaps because they think that the people most important in their lives soon abandoned them, so did we. So it was difficult for young men to open up, so we started doing activities such as playing sports and watching movies to get closer to young men. After a while I started to see a sense of acceptance from some of the young boys, we still kept our composer by not pushing too hard so that these young men would see that we are here to good and they don't feel like a charity. case. As soon as the young men became interested in what we were trying to do and the purpose of what we were doing, we explained to them that we wanted to be mentors to them, more like “big brothers.” We are all not far from age but Time is always the best teacher, so we use our experiences to help you. What I also experienced during this active participation in the community is that these kids have gone through more troubling things in their lives than me and I am their mentors. I can't say I'm the perfect young man, but I truly believe I can be a "big brother" or mentor to a young man who doesn't have a father figure in his life or even a big brother. This is a selfless act of compassion towards young men in the community and I hope we can expand into different areas and speak to hundreds of young men who are looking for someone not far from their age to share a little light and advice in their own way. In conclusion, I have high hopes for these young men and I feel that now me and my church members are here to push them in the right direction and bring them closer to God and I hope that they can apply what we taught them in their lives and influenced their lives. their parents, their peers, and follow the destiny that God has in store for them.
