    Should Teenagers Be Restricted to a Curfew? This is a question that many parents ask themselves. What is my son doing? What is my daughter doing? How do I know if they are safe? What time will he come home? When following curfews, teens tend to stay out of trouble because criminal activity or high-risk behavior is more likely to occur later in the evening when there is no parental supervision. Therefore, teenagers must have a curfew, imposing a curfew would help protect young teenagers from getting into trouble legally, set strict limits and ensure safety. How can a curfew prevent my young teenager from engaging in illegal activities? The curfew gives teenagers limited time to commit criminal offenses. Recently, several incidents have been reported in the news concerning gangs and fights between young teenagers; Although most people know that fighting involves using the fist and only the fist, today's teenagers are using weapons that can have very deadly consequences. These gang fights usually take place when the police are in the dark or late in the evening. In some areas of the United States where curfews are not enforced, community vandalism is present. Vandalism reaches unprecedented level among teenagers; Vandalism includes damaging property, stealing street signs, destroying homes or cars, spraying graffiti on public places, etc. In many cities, teen crime rates have declined significantly. The United States Conference of Mayors surveyed mayors of 347 cities implementing curfews and found that 88 percent of cities believed curfews made their streets safer for residents. While only 72 of 347 cities had daytime curfews, 100 percent of those cities saw a decrease in truancy and daytime crime. Teenagers should definitely have a curfew, imposing curfews will help keep teens out of trouble legally, set strict boundaries and ensure safety. You need to talk to as many people as possible and make them aware of the dangers of not having a curfew. Be a fellow citizen and help your community put an end to crimes committed by teenagers and the crimes against them.
