Essay / Embracing the Kingdom - 1811
Studying the Kingdom of God from the perspective of Derek Morphew in Breakthrough and Charles H. Kraft in Christianity with Power has opened my mind to completely new discoveries and interesting when considering power. it has already been given to God's children while they were here on earth. It is quite mind-boggling to realize that many Christians, myself included, have not harnessed their full potential to release the expectations of the resurrected Savior. Christians have come to believe that they are helpless and powerless against Satan's attacks; however, this belief is not the reality intended by Christ when he gave his life on the cross. When Jesus came to live on earth and walk among His people, He came not only for the purpose of liberating His Kingdom, but He also came with the supernatural ability to liberate His Kingdom and thus imprint on His children the victorious ability to live daily in supernatural abundance. He came so that those who believe in Him would be freed and no longer be slaves. Kraft stated in Christianity with Power: “But Jesus acted as if healings and other uses of spiritual power to overcome natural, human, or spiritual conditions were normal events” (Kraft, 1989, p. 102). Derek Morphew put it this way in Breakthrough: “the mysterious nature of the realm consists in the fact that it is always here, almost here, delayed and future” (Morphew, 1991, p. 66). Morphew shares that this present era that we all live in on earth is actually two eras that are currently coexisting at the same time within each other. In other words, the space and time that currently occupies this universe is known as the Interim. The period before the manifestation of Christ in the flesh is defined as the present era. Therefore, the time of Jesus Christ's return, also known as His second coming
