In recent years, the topic of same-sex marriage has taken on great importance for our society. The idea of a person of the same sex being legally married bothers a group of people, but in recent years the number of supporters has increased. Cases that argue for legalizing same-sex marriage focus on relationships between individuals and see nothing in same-sex marriage that could harm our society as a whole. The article "How the President went to 'I Do' on Same-Sex Marriage", published by Joe Becker in April 2014, explains how Barack Obama began to say he was undecided on the subject but is now leaning towards legalizing this marriage . -sexual marriage. The topic requires a lot of analysis on the pros and cons of legalizing same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage is a global argument that aims to legally unify two people of the same sex. The main reason its supporters give for same-sex marriage is that it is for the same reason as heterosexuals, which is to show love and commitment to one another. Additionally, the same-sex marriage argument is difficult to generalize due to the multiple factors that must be considered when making a decision regarding this topic. Although Becker has true premises, his terms lack clarity, making his argument false and invalid. Becker is guilty of using clerical errors throughout the article to argue his views on same-sex marriage. For example, Becker uses ad populum when he changes his views on same-sex marriage to match those of his constituents. “It took four years and a profound shift in public opinion, but the president was finally with them.” It's in the middle of an article that groups of people have a very hostile attitude towards the subject. The traditional view of marriage is also important because it influences future generations and teaches children the meaning of the special union of a man and a woman. Many people also argue that when raising a child, the child should be raised by a father and a mother. Not both of the same sex. Although the same-sex marriage debate may not resonate with some people, it is a hot-button topic that has changed the opinions of many people around the world. The topic of same-sex marriage is a subject that must be addressed by individuals who are sure of what they stand for and capable of providing others with true and convincing arguments.
