Essay / Tasmania - 1617
Is Tasmania really breathtaking? Is its magnificent landscape and native animal diversity truly one of a kind? The answer is yes, of course. It's really hard to say whether it's the sweeping landscapes of rainforests and beaches that make this country wonderful or the abundant and incredible animals that inhabit them. Scientists, climatologists, botanists and biologists around the world will agree that Tasmania is both a great environment and an animal extravaganza for several species only found in Tasmania. Between some of the oldest and most lush rainforests still in existence today and some of the rarest and most dangerous animals that live there, it's easy to see why Tasmania takes the breath away of anyone discovering this country of the wonders. and intriguing geographic demographics across the entire Australian continent. Between the once volcanic mountains of the Central Highlands, the vast amount of estuaries that provide energy and beauty around Tasmania's populated center and the Tarkine, Australia's largest area of temperate rainforest, all blending seamlessly into the he island of Tasmania, it's easy to see where the beauty comes from. The Central Highlands is home to Tasmania's highest mountain, Mount Ossa, which rises to 1,617 meters in the middle of Cradle-Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park, which makes up the north-west region of Tasmania. A little further west and a little less north is Tasmania's most important place, the Tarkine Rainforests. The Tarkine covers approximately 1,500 square miles of rainforest, it is almost the largest remaining rainforest in the world! The cool temperate rainforest is characterized by open, lush ......ization, middle of paper. The Lowland Copperhead is often found in the homes of villagers who live near estuaries. This is particularly dangerous because the copperhead possesses a neurotoxin venom that is fatal to anyone bitten if proper medical attention is not sought. Finally, the white-lipped snake is the least dangerous snake in Tasmania due to its small venom glands and tiny fangs. Death rarely results from a bite from one of these snakes. Unlike most snakes, the white-lipped snake is preyed upon by domestic cats and even small birds of prey, although, given the opportunity, this snake will attack birds and some marsupials when it hides in dense grasslands. Tasmania as a whole is an incredible experience, especially for those who love nature and animals, with the diverse climate, ecosystems and rare wildlife opportunities, it truly is a land unto itself.
