The cruel and undisciplined torture of prisoners in North Korean concentration camps recalls the horrors committed during the Holocaust by the Nazis and other powers of the Axis. In these North Korean prison camps, many prisoners die due to mistreatment and lack of supplies; The United States and South Korea estimate that around 200,000 people are imprisoned in many of these North Korean concentration camps. It is also estimated that 400,000 people died in these concentration camps as a result of torture, starvation and executions. The North Korean regime, which controls all aspects of North Korea's government, has established concentration camps for political prisoners and their family members who have chosen to oppose the regime. There are more than six camps in North Korea that have been identified as concentration camps. These camps were identified using satellite cameras, evidence and testimonies from more than 100 victims and witnesses who were lucky to escape, but the United Nations still suspects there are other scattered camps throughout North Korea. Most of the identified prison camps are located near nuclear research sites, where nuclear weapons are often tested, to create a dangerous environment for prisoners. North Korea has openly denied any statements made by the United Nations (UN) on concentration camps. Even though there is an overwhelming amount of evidence proving that there are secret prison camps scattered throughout North Korea.
