    Communication is essential to any type of relationship. Teachers and parents need to have a strong communication system in place so that the class runs smoothly and students succeed. Teachers often accomplish this type of communication by holding parent-teacher conferences or sending letters home communicating what parents need to know. However, a more effective way to convey information to parents is through parent group meetings. These group meetings will ensure that all parents receive the same information, they will allow parents to communicate with each other, and hopefully the information gap will be filled (Kroth & Edge, 2007, p.126). Parent group meetings not only convey information to parents effectively and efficiently, but they also provide more avenues for parents to communicate.
