When a positive stereotype is introduced and conformed to or worked on, the results can be progressive. Generally positive stereotypes increase and improve individuals' performance when introduced. An interesting experiment showed that during testing, “each group performed better on the task on which they believed the opposite sex performed less” (Krendl, Gainsburg, Nalini). When the group thought they would do better, they actually did. Positive stereotypes encourage people to do better and be better.
