ANNEX 011) Company History Sri Lankan Airline was launched in 1979 as Sri Lanka's flagship carrier and is today an award-winning international carrier in passenger air transport in the aeronautics industry. The airline is a private limited company incorporated and domiciled in Sri Lanka, where the Government of Sri Lanka owns 51.06%, the Bank of Ceylon 23.54%, the People's Bank 8.23%, the National Bank of savings 8.23%, Employees Provident Fund 3.62% and others 5.32%. The airline's main activities are to provide scheduled international operations and non-scheduled air services for the transportation of passengers, cargo and mail from its base airport, Bandaranayake International Airport, Katunayake, Sri Lanka . The secondary activities of Sri Lankan airlines include providing passenger air terminal services, sale of duty free onboard goods, arrival and departure holiday packages at its hub airport, Bandaranayake International Airport.
