Blindness is not only about vision, but blindness is also about knowledge and reality. Blindness can lead to fatal endings and hurt feelings. Although the plays Oedipus the King and Othello demonstrate blindness, the two plays use blindness in different ways. In Oedipus the King, Oedipus is blinded by his egocentric personality and does not want to listen to others. Meanwhile, in Othello, Iago demonstrates a lack of care towards others through his unjustifiable actions. Throughout the play Oedipus the King, Oedipus needs answers to find the murderer of the ex-king of Thebes and his biological father, King Laius. . Ironically, Oedipus does not know that he was the one who killed the king. But due to Oedipus' narcissistic personality, it pushed him to investigate the murder. However, people around him, such as Teiresias, warned Oedipus that he would not like the results that would result.
