Millions of people struggle with their weight every day. Losing weight, eating healthily and finding time to exercise are the main complaints of most overweight people. Many people fail to lose weight because they are lazy. Many people would like to lose weight and exercise, but because of work, family and a busy life, it is difficult to find time to exercise. People never think about their health when it comes to losing weight. Everyone just wants to look good. Most people want to lose weight while on vacation. Some women want to lose weight because they are getting married. Some would like to lose weight just to put on an old or new suit. There are many reasons to lose weight. “An estimated 55% of the adult population in the United States is obese or overweight” (“Exercise versus Diet for Weight Loss”). People with excess stomach fat are at risk to their health. There must be a combination between diet and exercise. dietIt is important to eat a healthy diet and maintain a healthy weight. Diet and body weight are linked to health status. Most Americans need to improve some part of their diet. ("Exercise versus diet for weight loss"). When it comes to being a healthy weight, you need to count calories. It's about balancing the number of calories you consume with the number of calories your body uses or burns. “A calorie is defined as a unit of energy provided by a food. A calorie is a calorie regardless of its source. Whether you eat carbs, fats, sugars, or proteins, they all contain calories. (“Balance calories”). If you eat more calories than you take in, they are stored as fat. If you want to stay the same weight, you need to consume the amount of calories you use each day.
