Essay / Mythology, The God of Gods of Gods - 999
Mythology is about gods and goddesses or supernatural beings with powers and abilities greater than ordinary humans, and the mythology takes place a long time ago. Some of the main gods are Zeus, the god of all gods, Poseidon, the god of the ocean, and Hades, the god of death. Cronus is their father, a titan who was later overthrown by Zeus. The prophecy said: “One day Kronos would be overthrown by his own children.” He then began to swallow all his children, with the exception of Zeus, the lucky one. He then took care of being the nymphs. He grew up and became a young man. Zeus overthrew Kronos with his brothers and sisters. After the Titanomachy, he was crowned king of all the gods. Kronos was one of the twelve titans. The twelve titans are Kronos, Hyperion, Crius, Rhea, Oceanus, Theia, Mnemosyne, Atlas, Phoebe, Iapetus, Tethy and Coeus. The twelve Olympians are Zeus (the god of all), Poseidon (the god of the ocean), Athena (the goddess of wisdom, war and crafts), Apollo (the god of music, arts , of prophecy), Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty), Hephaestus (the god of fire and metalworking) Aphrodite's husband, Artemis (the goddess of the hunt), Hermes (the god of diplomacy and thieves), Hera (goddess of marriage) was married to Zeus who is also the queen of the gods, Demeter (the goddess of agriculture), Ares (the god of war) and finally Dionysus (the god of wine) . A war for ultimate power between the titans and the Olympians is called the Titanomachy. Zeus freed Cronus' brothers, the Gigantes, the Hecatonchires and the Cyclops from Tartarus or the underworld. The Cyclops made weapons for Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Zeus had lightning, Hades had a helmet that made him middle of paper......looks like the food of the gods. Hades lived in the underworld where the dead go. Once you enter the underworld, you are judged by whether or not you were a good person in life. Then you would be sent to one of three levels. As stated in the book Poptropica Mythology pg12 “The Champ Elysée: this beautiful paradise was reserved only for the most righteous people, or those blessed by the gods”. “The Plain of Asphodel: If you were a regular and not a very good person, you would end up here, floating like a ghost.” “Tartarus: The lowest level of Hades is where the truly evil people were sent to be tormented by the furies.” The Furies are the goddess of vengeance. They are three sisters Alecto, Tisiphone and Magaera and are the children of Mother Earth Gaia and Uranus..
