The article I chose to review involved college students and some of the abnormal behaviors that were observed. Currently, suicide among students continues to increase. Without completing the study, the motivations for their behavior would remain unknown. Understanding what causes so many students to commit suicide will help others be aware of the signs so that other alternatives can be used, such as counseling. The assessment technique used in this study required a specific number of students who were enrolled in “Psychology 101 courses at an urban New York college” to complete several questionnaires as a group (Bauer, Chesin, & Jeglic, 2014, p. 37). This is similar to asking a person to fill out a symptom questionnaire. These students were from diverse ethnicities and more than half of them were women. They were asked to complete questionnaires indicating the severity of the student's depression at that time, past and present suicidal thoughts or attempts, and whether the student was involved in "delinquent" activities. »....
