Essay on Child Abuse Most parents and other guardians do not intentionally harm their children, but the abuse is clear by the consequences on the child, and not by the motivation of the parents or guardian. Every year, tens of thousands of children are harmed by physical, sexual and emotional abusers or neglectful caregivers, making stories of child abuse increasingly common and shocking. The shocking thing is that there are more cases of child abuse than ever before. We all know that child abuse is clear: it is deliberate acts that result in physical or emotional consequences that can harm children. In this article, I would like to explain the four different types of child abuse, namely physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and sexual abuse, and how to prevent child abuse. Why does child abuse happen in the first place? Why do parents/guardians hurt children? What makes them do this? All of these questions need to be answered to understand child abuse. According to the Health Children website, “Most child abuse occurs within the family. Risk factors include parental depression or other mental health problems, a parental history of childhood abuse, and domestic violence. Child neglect and abuse are also more common among families living in poverty and among parents who are teenagers or addicted to drugs or alcohol. While it is certainly true that child abuse occurs outside of the home, children are most often abused by a caregiver or someone they know, not by a stranger. This is so true because I don't think a person who thinks this is normal would hurt an innocent child, but obviously it is possible for a person with mental issues to do such a thing. The first type of child abuse is called physical abuse. Physical abuse involves physical harm...... middle of paper ...... hey, kids should keep their distance from strangers; say "no" when someone asks you to do something you don't like or stay away from unfamiliar places. According to my research, “two-way communication with your child offers the best chance that you will know when a problem arises.” One of the best methods to prevent child abuse is for parents to encourage their children not to get in trouble if they tell you about abuse. Additionally, parents should always keep their children safe. In conclusion, both good and bad children deserve to live their lives. It is the responsibility of parents to monitor the progress of their children. Any type of abuse will harm children physically or mentally. Any type of child abuse should be avoided immediately because as children of today, they will be a leader for tomorrow..
