    These patients were not able to express their needs verbally. The observation led Kolcaba to come to certain conclusions and develop a care plan that immediately addressed the needs they were unable to express. Care plans were individualized for each patient. There are two different dimensions described in comfort theory. Three different forms are described in the first dimension: relief, ease and transcendence. The second state is ease. Ease is a state of peace and contentment in which the illness subsides, allowing the recovery period to begin.
