Essay / Characteristics of a Healthy Community - 701
An idea of a healthy community with a safe environment, accessibility to preventive health care services and screenings, stress-free health promotion education and accessible and healthier grocery stores. The hallmarks of a healthy community are the ideas, activities and resolutions that arise from partnerships among diverse groups and the regular self-assessment that is part of the practice, which is the focus of attention. A variety of strategies, techniques, materials and other resources should be implemented to support and create a healthy community. If an individual's knowledge of a healthy community differs from their beliefs, then a community strategy must be put in place in order to begin to achieve the goal of improved health. The community strategy must be supported by individuals working together to succeed (Matthew et al, 2001). For a strategy to become effective, a coherent plan must be created with achievable goals within a community. Likewise, strong, inspired, truthful and determined individuals should also complete the necessary tasks.
