  • Essay / Hey kids - 796

Hey kids! I know this can be difficult, but try to remember when we were kids how much we all loved waking up early on Saturday mornings, sneaking in front of the TV and watching our favorite cartoons. We loved doing this not only to be able to see our favorite characters face difficult dilemmas each episode, but also to see what was new on the market and try to convince our parents to save a few dollars and to buy it. This tactic has been used for years and will likely continue to happen for the simple reason that it works. Marketing businessmen know that children will see the latest and greatest thing and will insist to their parents that they have it. And with a little persistence and maybe a tantrum or two, they usually succeed. Sometimes advertisements appeal not only to the child but also to the parents because they can see the new toys that they can buy for their children. Because there is always a constant demand for new toys, there will always be an entrepreneur trying to make money by creating a product and marketing it. It's a never ending cycle that will always happen as long as there is television, because that's how they make their money. It's been years since I've woken up early on a Saturday morning to watch the "early bird" cartoons, so when we were told to pick a show, I knew what it would be, HEY ARNOLD! HEY ARNOLD! airs on NICKELODEON in the morning every weekday. HEY ARNOLD! is a cartoon about a group of young children who live in the city and go to school together. A similar theme that many children can relate to. I used to watch this show when I was a kid and I knew they always played it on KICKELODEON, so I woke up at the same time I was watching it, at 7:00 a.m., even though it wasn't on that at 8:00 it was ok. . I sat down from 8am to 9am and watched two episodes of the show. When I thought about the ads I would see, I had a pretty good idea. Sitting down and looking at them proved my ideas correct. Before I sat down to watch the show, I made a list of the types of ads I thought would be shown, just to see if I'd be right..
