Essay / Essay on Impact of Technology on Education - 1259
Impact of Technology on SchoolTechnology plays a huge role in the educational field. Since we are in the 21st century, technology is very important and useful for us humans. People may or may not agree that technology has had a positive impact in the classroom. Some people think technology is a distraction and others think it is an educational aid. It is a subject that concerns teachers, school officials, students and parents. Does technology really help people learn and make a positive difference in education? Darress M. West, vice president for governance studies at the Brookings Institution, believes that technology has had very little impact on the classroom experience. He believes that technology has impacted communication and learning in every field except education. The reason there has been no impact on education is that the education governance system protects technology from the problems it creates for other organizations. He says technology is very beneficial when it comes to learning. One strategy he mentions for persuading teachers to use technology is to select the technologies that work best for them. This could be very useful because they won't have to use multiple resources. According to Neil Kokemuller, administrator of "Globalpost", the new American newspaper global website, technology has had a significant impact on schools and students at all levels. Students' attention and motivation improved through the use of technology. Students tend to stay interested when they are engaged in their school work on a computer. Teachers are able to make presentations and lessons much more interesting through visual support and also technology-centric activities that stay middle of paper......you might even want to check your Facebook or browse the web. There are a lot of things on the Internet that could distract a person but it all depends on the maturity level of the student. If you use your technological device correctly, you will not be distracted. If people are mature enough to avoid things that are not related to education, then yes, they will abuse the benefits that technology can have in their school work. In conclusion, out of all the research I looked at, more articles had reasons to do so. why technology is beneficial rather than non-beneficial. Overall, I think if you use it precisely, you won't have to experience any negative effects. It just depends on the person and how much they value their schoolwork and how hard they are willing to work to get the best out of themselves..
