    My name is Ankita Singal. I'm from India. I decided to become a director when I was fourteen. I was in tenth grade and studying the history of the world wars. I got inspired by war stories and started writing stories based on the same subject. I wasn't sure what to make of these stories until I watched Saving Private Ryan. This film based on World War II inspired me to become a filmmaker. I come from a middle class family in India. Medicine, engineering and finance dominate academic discussions. Movies are never even considered an option. I never even considered telling my parents about my dream, for fear of being rejected. So taking a conventional route seemed like a much better option. I completed my bachelor's degree in physics and master's degree in finance from Delhi University. Immediately after, I started working at PEC Ltd, a trading company. This is a regular nine-to-six financial job. Even though this job sounds like a cliché, it has taught me a lot over the last two and a half years.
