Essay / Similarities and differences between Hamlet and Oedipus...
Both plays are written from the third person point of view. The play is narrated by someone else as what is happening. In both of these plays, tragedy seems to happen eventually no matter what. It all seemed to be leading to a tragic end. In Oedipus the King, Oedipus seemed to be running away from his problems because he had left the village for a while. For some reason, King Oedipus decided that he wanted to return and find out the truth about himself. It was Tiresias who told Oedipus the truth. Oedipus felt so much hatred towards his mother Jocasta because she had not been with him his whole life. If she were not with him, Oedipus would not have fallen in love with his own mother. I believe nothing tragic would happen. Hamlet is a play from different eras, but both plays were set in a castle. Therefore, as the plays were written in different time periods, the rules for being a king might have been a little different. The difference between Hamlet and Oedipus the King is that Oedipus the King is trying to discover the truth about his origins to fulfill a prophecy. The interest of the play King Oedipus is that Oedipus had to save his kingdom, he had to find out who was the one who had murdered the king before him. By questioning others, Oedipus ended up learning about himself and his origins. In Hamlet, the point is that for Hamlet, who is the prince of Denmark, he must avenge the death of his father. It was hoped that Hamlet would kill his uncle Claudius because he was romantically involved with his mother. Hamlet is mad, which is why he thinks he should take revenge. Hamlet hates his own mother because of her. Oedipus can no longer love her as he did before knowing that he had a romantic relationship with his own mother. Oedipus ultimately achieves his goal of killing the king. Killing the king was his goal all along so he could be the king himself. Oedipus and Hamlet had one goal: to kill the former king for their own reasons. Oedipus and Hamlet were deceived by their parents and felt hurt. Hamlet and Oedipus seemed to think only about revenge, but in the end they seemed to think more about their actions. Hamlet was born with the blood of the gods, people would admire him because he had the blood of the gods. Both Hamlet and Oedipus come from royal and royal families. As families with more power know, it seems that's why people know them. When things were bad, the whole village talked about it. The townspeople admired the Oedipus family and the Hamlet family because they were both in a position of power. For a long time, Hamlet always wondered why his father died, all this time he always thought that it was his uncle who killed his father. The character of Hamlet seemed to be someone who had a lot of attitude and hatred towards his surroundings. Even though Oedipus discovered the truth, he felt betrayed by the people he loved. At the end of Hamlet's play, there was
