Imagine yourself sitting in the corner of your room, depressed, hallucinating, isolated from everyone, feeling pain in your bones, feeling worthless and seeing your life parade before your eyes; and then you ask yourself: is it worth it? A drug is known as a dangerous substance, solid, liquid or gas, that changes the way your body and mind work. There is no doubt that drugs give you a rush of pleasure and a good taste of the present. However, people don't realize that the present is distorted on so many levels. Widespread drug use has been a problem addressed for centuries. This seems unstoppable for many people who feel the need to fit in, relieve pain, or break free from their ordinary life routine. People may think that these substances are helpful, but in reality, they cause a lot of harm due to family/relationship problems, financial problems, health problems, sexual problems and many more. It is even more serious in the Islamic world. In Kuwait, drug addiction is taken very seriously, given that Kuwait is a Muslim country. As Al-Zaheely stated in his book Legal Sanctions: Scientists have agreed to prohibit all types of drugs because they are very harmful to the body and mind… (107). Drug abuse is a very serious problem, as it causes many risks such as: safety, criminal behavior, intimate relationships and death. When it comes to illegal activities, people go to extreme measures by hiding drugs in the most bizarre places. In the article titled "Syrians arrested for drugs hidden in their passports", Mansour Al-Sultan states that secret patrols arrested two young Syrians for narcotic pills hidden in their passports in the Jleeb Alshyookh neighborhood. During interrogation, they confessed that they were drug addicts since ...... middle of paper ...... and delusional who eventually committed suicide (54). How would you feel if you were constantly depressed and isolated from the world? This is why people should think twice before taking legal or illegal drugs, thinking that they might be helpful, because before you know it, you will lose all your loved ones and yourself. These dangerous substances are ruining so many innocent lives who can't seem to do it. to control their addiction. As tempting as it may seem at first, it will ultimately cost them their sense of security, their relationship with their family, friends and life partner and, most importantly, themselves. What started as a few minutes of fun became this evil demon that took control of every aspect of their lives, leaving them depressed, worthless, and isolated from the world. Again, is it all worth it? No, nothing will ever be.
