Essay / TOK Essay: What about theories about humans...
Since the beginning of the scientific revolution, the Western world has valued scientific improvement above all others, placing theories and scientific leaders on the basis above. their equals in lower sectors of society, such as business leaders or government leaders, which leads to the question: why are sciences and theories held with so much respect? With the two different fields of knowledge, what results and consequences do these two different sciences use methods such as observation, empirical evidence and the scientific method, in developing theories? These two areas of knowledge have key differences in their conclusion, which leads to their differences in how they persuade others. How do the aspects vary? Are the truths established in science incontestably true? But above all, what makes theories from the human and natural sciences convincing? To begin this research, there are definitions of some key terms in the title which I will explain. The principle that introduces something to be a theory in science is that it must be an idea/statement that is descriptive, predictable, and explanatory in nature. This is built around ideas supported by evidence, which fits the logic of current knowledge. Even the most common theories in science must be able to be refuted by nature. In this way, theories, by definition, can never be completely accurate and therefore remain untouched by opposing arguments. It is the nature of theories that interests this essay most. The word “persuasive” is an area to consider where the definition of the word may be concerned. A theory that can overcome opposition... middle of article ...... related to our tendency to think we know more about these theories than we actually know, when in reality we let's basically place our trust in scientific numbers to tell us what is convincing or not convincing at all.
