IntroductionThe National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture in India is one of the eight missions of NAPCC (National Action Plan for Climate Change) to address issues related to “ sustainable agriculture” in the context of associated risks. with climate change by designing appropriate adaptation and mitigation strategies to ensure food security, access to food resources and, consequently, improve livelihood opportunities and contribute to the economic stability of the country. This mission examines the risk associated with the Indian agricultural sector. Thus, in the absence of adaptation and mitigation measures, the impact on Indian agriculture would be severe. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND CLIMATE CHANGE Sustainable agriculture involves balancing the combination of environment and economic viability to improve social and economic equity. It involves the processes of meeting food and other needs while maximizing benefits through optimal use of natural resources and maintenance of the ecosystem. Sustainable agricultural production is the key to ensuring food security and livelihoods. Climate change poses a significant challenge to sustainable agricultural growth. This threat is aggravated mainly by the increase in greenhouse gases. Climate change refers to statistical variations in properties of the climate system such as changes in global temperatures, precipitation, etc., due to natural or human factors over a long period of time. time. Agricultural productivity is affected by climatic variables. Some of the climatic variables are: temperature, precipitation and humidity.
