Book ReviewOn Globalization and Its DiscontentsBy Joseph E. StiglitzA Book Review by Michaela EviaTo be forwarded to Ms. Susan LuceroI. INTRODUCTION Joseph Stiglit focused on criticizing the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and how globalization is making rich countries richer and poor countries poorer. At first I thought the book was too technical for a beginner to the subject to understand, but he was able to explain the content of this book well. This book is very informative for people interested in globalization and economic development. His harsh criticism of globalization, particularly the International Monetary Fund (IMF), based on his own experiences. In this book, he highlighted the effect of globalization on less developed countries as well as developed countries. I chose On Globalization and Its Discontent because, in addition to the book's striking title, it also reflects the sincere opinions of Joseph Stiglitz. Moreover, I chose this book apart from its obligatory nature, I thought that this book would be of great help to me in the near future – if I want to continue on this path – with all the information that has been data by Stiglitz. This book review is divided into four parts, which are (i) introduction, (ii) chapter summary, (iii) review itself and (iv) concluding words. In the chapter summary, I just explained the gist of the chapters in 4 to 5 sentences. During the actual revision, I quoted from the book the sentence/paragraph that I agreed with. Finally, you will see the things I agreed to. Finally, in the last part, I just recommended the book to people who are interested in globalization and economic development. In this book review you will see my opinions and ideas about...... middle of article..... Deepened my knowledge about globalization and gave me different points of view on this one. He made me understand that not all international organizations do exactly what they promised to advocate. I will definitely recommend it to anyone interested in globalization and economic development, as it is a very informative book that will be useful to them if they wish. expand their knowledge. Stiglitz's views on globalization, combined with readers' views on globalization, will be beneficial to those who agree or disagree with his views, as readers will surely question their knowledge about international economic organizations , as to whether they are actually doing their job or actually doing their job. Were they just doing their “job” for their own interests? This book will definitely improve the reader's argumentation skills while reading this book..
